Start with purpose, not popularity
We first define the use case: the pet, the setting, the frequency of use, the person doing the maintenance, and the problem the purchase is meant to solve. A feature is not valuable simply because it appears on a longer specification sheet.
We then separate universal buying questions from needs that vary by household. This makes room for more than one sensible choice instead of forcing every reader toward a single winner.
What we consider
The balance changes by category, but our common framework covers the product's purpose, published specifications, practical fit, safety considerations, ease of use, maintenance, compatibility, value, data freshness, and merchant or program policies.
Value means the whole ownership experience. Replacement parts, cleaning effort, consumables, storage, service life, and support can matter more than a low initial price.
- Fit for the pet, space, and routine
- Materials, construction, and care instructions
- Cleaning access and recurring maintenance
- Compatibility with food, power, furniture, travel rules, or companion apps
- Availability of replacement parts or consumables
- Evidence quality and the date information was checked
Evidence and uncertainty
Safety-related or otherwise verifiable factual claims should trace to government sources, veterinary organizations, universities, standards bodies, or official technical documentation when appropriate. We summarize rather than copy those sources.
Missing evidence stays missing. We do not convert an assumption into a product fact, and we do not describe hands-on testing unless a documented first-hand test actually exists.
Commercial relationships do not decide rank
PawPickHub currently has no affiliate links. If that changes, commission may help fund the site, but it will not be the sole or primary reason a product appears first. Critical fit, safety, freshness, availability, and policy blockers come before commercial value.
Any future affiliate relationship will be disclosed near the relevant link as well as in the site-wide disclosure.
